I’m Jennifer Shneer, a Registered Social Worker (MSW, RSW), Certified Play Therapist, Clinical Traumatologist, and Certified Adventures in Wisdom Coach with more than 25 years of experience supporting children, teens, and adults through life’s challenges.
Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of helping clients navigate anxiety, stress, grief, trauma, self-esteem, emotional regulation, life transitions, and other emotional challenges. I believe counselling is about more than working through difficulties—it’s about helping people discover their strengths, build resilience, and create meaningful, lasting change.
My passion for working with children inspired the creation of Shine Bright Counselling & Coaching Services. The name “Shine Bright” holds special meaning for me, reflecting the belief that every child—and every person—has unique strengths and deserves the opportunity to grow with confidence, hope, and self-belief, even during life’s most difficult moments.
My approach is warm, collaborative, strengths-based, and tailored to each client’s unique needs. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to move forward.
When working with children, I incorporate play therapy to help them express feelings, process experiences, and develop healthy coping skills in developmentally appropriate ways. With teens and adults, I focus on building insight, practical coping strategies, emotional resilience, and confidence while helping clients work toward the goals that matter most to them.
Whether you’re seeking support for yourself or your child, my goal is to help you feel understood, supported, and equipped with the tools to navigate life’s challenges with greater confidence and resilience.
