Sample Letter and Policy for New Insurance Companies

A Paper beside a Person Typing on a Laptop

Hello _____________,

I am reaching out to all prior clients or prospective clients to let them know that I am now able to direct bill several insurance companies (depending on the plan and coverage).

While there is still not full clarity with some insurance companies, I am offering the first session at a 0-risk policy. If your insurance is not accepted for your appointment through direct-billing, your first session will be free. If you want to continue afterwards you can do so with out of pocket sessions and manual reimbursement, or we can part ways with no expectation. If your insurance goes through, you will also be responsible for your deductible % with a card on file.

The following insurance companies are available for this:

I am able to direct bill the following:

  • Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC)
  • Medavie Blue cross/Blue Cross
  • Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP)
  • Saskatchewan Blue Cross

I may be able to direct bill the following companies, but if I cannot, your first appointment is free:

  • Alberta Blue Cross
  • Beneva
  • Benefits Program Administrators (BPA)
  • Canadian Construction Workers Union
  • Chambers of Commerce Group Insurance Plan
  • CINUP (Indigenous Insurance Services)
  • ClaimSecure
  • Coughlin and Associates
  • Cowan Insurance Group (managed by Express Scripts Canada)
  • D.A. Townley
  • Equitable Life of Canada
  • First Canadian Insurance Corporation
  • Group Medical Services (GMS) Carriers 49 and 50
  • Industrial Alliance Insurance and Financial Services Inc.
  • Johnston Group Inc.
  • Labourers’ International Union of North America (LiUNA) Local 183
  • Labourers’ International Union of North America (LiUNA) Local 506
  • Manulife Financial Corporation
  • Maximum Benefit
  • MDM Insurance Services Inc.
  • People Corporation
  • RWAM Insurance Administrators Inc.
  • Simply Benefits
  • TELUS AdjudiCare
  • Union Benefits
  • UV Insurance (Union Vie)

If you are a member of Canada Life PSHCP, you are only eligible for reimbursement of receipts (Canada Life does not accept direct billing). Therapy in Canada is now Tax-free and eligible for direct billing for counselling services, however, both of these are newly initiated programs, and I am here with you throughout these growing pains.

Sincerely,
Shaylynn Hayes-Raymond
