Hello/ bonjour,
My name is Julie. I’m glad that you have landed on my profile and I hope that you can find what you are looking for whether it be with me or with one of my fellow therapists. Feeling that your therapist “clicks” with you is really important to cultivate trust and lead to a successful therapy.
So let me tell you a little about myself…
There are many ways of practising psychotherapy. I use an integrative approach to therapy which means that I integrate knowledge, skills and tools from a variety of different psychotherapeutic theories. If you were a client of mine, I would start by asking you to tell me about what brings you to therapy (aka “presenting issues”) and what you hope to get from your sessions (a.k.a “therapeutic goals”). In the first few sessions, I will also get to know you much better. I consider all these factors in suggesting what I think will likely be the most helpful for you. I also work collaboratively with clients which means that I openly share with you what I think will be helpful and I am open to any feedback or changes you feel are necessary.
I am welcoming, easy to talk to, non-judgmental, calm and I have a good sense of humour. I am fully bilingual (French/English).
If you think that I could be the right therapist for you, don’t hesitate to reach out. I would be happy to offer you a 15-minute consultation call where you can talk to me a little bit about your concern and get to know me a little more before committing to therapy.
