Madeline works at Nightingale Counselling, a high-standard clinic for adults and youth seeking meaningful progress in their lives.
The first questions I ask every new client are ‘Why now?’ and ‘What can I do to be most helpful to you?’ My approach to counselling is shaped by the people I work with, and I’ve learned from them that the process for change and growth is different for everyone. I am here to guide your unique process, but there will always be space for you to bring absolutely anything to our work. I love to explore the stories that shape us and how we would like to change them, talk about our emotions and what they are trying to tell us, brainstorm boundaries that will serve you, and hear about all of your trials, successes, and everything in between.
I am flexible and adaptive, evolving the therapy to match your own shifting needs as our work gains ground. I have built a range of strategies and tools that will help me meet you where you are and get you to where you want to be. I can be emotion and depth-focused while recognising when we need to find solutions; I will sit with you in pain, anger, and frustration and show you all the compassion and grace you need while staying honest and direct; and in every session I bring my bright (and neuro-spicy) personality and sense of humour.
I am here to be an anchor if you feel like life is chaos, a cheerleader when you feel like you’re not enough, your advocate when you’re struggling against injustice, and the one to hold you accountable to the changes you want to see for yourself. If you have arrived ready to explore, be challenged, and accept all the joys and frustrations of being human, then we are already off to a great start.
