Moneka is a dedicated Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with a deep passion for helping individuals navigate some of life’s most challenging experiences. With a specialized focus on grief, loss, pre and postnatal concerns, postpartum rage and anxiety, trauma, and addiction, Moneka offers compassionate and evidence-based support to her clients. Her extensive experience in youth mental health also allows her to connect with younger clients, guiding them through their unique struggles with empathy and understanding.
Moneka holds a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology and has undergone specialized training in perinatal mental health and trauma-informed care. She recognizes the profound impact that grief, trauma, and perinatal challenges can have on mental health and works collaboratively with her clients to create personalized therapeutic approaches that foster healing and resilience.
Her approach is rooted in a blend of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness practices, and person-centered therapy, ensuring that each client receives the support that best suits their individual needs. Moneka is committed to creating a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can explore their emotions, build coping strategies, and move towards a healthier, more balanced life.
Outside of her clinical practice, Moneka is actively involved in community outreach programs focused on youth mental health and maternal well-being. She is dedicated to teaching and education, especially for youth and hard to serve communities.
