Misophonia describes a condition where sufferers experience a fight-flight-freeze response to otherwise normal stimuli. Unlike psychological and cognitive disorders, persons with misophonia do not habituate to these responses, and traditional exposure therapy does not work for the condition. So what do clinicians do to help their clients with misophonia? As a sufferer of misophonia myself, an advocate of 10 years, and a clinician, I have thought about this extensively. My Misophonia Matters approach includes advocacy, communication, sensory regulation, and CBT (without exposure) to help alleviate as much suffering for those with misophonia as possible—all the while respecting the chronic physiological nature of the disorder. My answer to help clincians understand and help clients with misophonia was to put together a full resource and training pack, including books on misophonia, pre-made worksheets, a clinician’s course, as well as a lifetime listing on the misophonia provider directory. The Complete Misophonia Clinician’s Resource & Training Pack is a professional package designed to move a practice from discovery to treatment. It combines foundational digital training with a comprehensive library of PDF books and workbooks. Beyond theory, it provides the practical tools necessary for day-to-day patient management, including a Daily Reflection Journal, over 50 worksheets, and a lifetime professional directory listing to connect with clients in need of specialized care. This pack for clinicians includes everything that clinicians need to begin working with clients with misophonia.A full list of everything included in this package:
