My name is Jeremy Varner and I am the Director of Clinical Services for New Tide Counselling & Consulting in Miramichi, NB. Additionally, I also have a small, virtual private practice.
I enjoy reading, watching hockey (Go Leaf’s), and spending time with my toddler. I have been in the helping profession for over 15 years working in a variety of front-line roles including child protection and family support, case management and housing, and criminal justice. More recently, I worked as a Counselling Therapist and Outreach Therapist with Atlantic Wellness in Moncton, as the Regional Clinical Supervisor for the Child and Youth Counselling Program in Yellowknife, and taught in the Human Services Practitioner program at NBCC Miramichi. I have a Bachelor of Arts (Criminology & Psychology) from St. Thomas University, a Family and Community Services diploma from Oulton College, and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University.
I provide services in-person or online and can help with substance dependence, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, trauma, stress, self-esteem, and relationship concerns. I work with youth 12 and up, adults, couples, and families. I provide services for clients of all genders and have a passion for supporting men in their mental health journey, and males who have experienced trauma and abuse.
