As a bicultural therapist, I have lived experiences navigating attachment needs, identities, and understanding trauma. I work with individuals and couples who are struggling with communication, understanding cultural impacts on identity, and breaking cycles of attachment wounds. My approach to therapy is: pro-Black, pro-choice, pro-queer, pro-trans, and focuses on being an affirming therapist. I support all cultural backgrounds, sexual orientations and gender identities.
I am known to be a direct therapist who is not afraid of big feelings (e.g., anger, shame). I provide guidance identifying gaps in communication and shifting to a supportive lens without blame. I have training in Emotionally Focused Family Therapy- EFFT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy- ACT, Accelerated Resolution Therapy- ART, and Narrative Practice.
I work steadily with clients to reframe outlooks on their shortcomings through storytelling and identifying who has influenced their identity (cultural/societal/family influences). By learning to understand yourself, you will have a greater opportunity to identify needs in relationships and healthy boundary setting.
