My family and I moved from Hong Kong to Calgary in 1995 in search of a brighter future during a time of uncertainty. Like many immigrant families, my parents worked multiple jobs while pursuing their education. Their resilience and sacrifices deeply shaped who I am and inspired my passion for supporting others navigating similar paths.
Growing up as a 1.5-generation immigrant, I understand firsthand the unique pressures young adults face—balancing family expectations, cultural identity, and personal aspirations. This lived experience informs my counselling approach, helping clients feel truly understood as they learn practical tools to thrive in life, work, and relationships.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Calgary, with a focus on Ethnicity, Immigration, and Multiculturalism, and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. I’m a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) and Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), offering counselling in both English and Cantonese (with a basic understanding of Mandarin).
Today, I specialize in supporting 1.5- and second-generation immigrants, who are exploring identity, belonging, and self-worth. My hope is to create a compassionate, culturally responsive space where clients can reconnect with their strengths, honour their roots, and take small, steady steps toward growth and healing.
